Sleeps 6 - Situated in the picturesque village of Horning in the heart of the Broadland, Heron Cottage occupies an enviable position at the head of a quiet side-dyke with uninterrupted views of the main River Bure. Built by the local craftsman, Heron Cottage maintains an old world charm being of traditional, timber construction under a Norfolk reed thatched roof, whilst affording all the comforts of modern day living.
Sleeps 6 (1 King Size, 1 Double & 2 Single)
The deceptively spacious property has a master bedroom with king size bed and balcony with superb views towards the main river. A further double bedroom and family bathroom with w/c are also located on the first floor. Towels and bed linen are included. The ground floor consists of a twin-bedded room, shower room with w/c, kitchen/diner and lounge. The fully fitted kitchen has integrated washer/dryer, dishwasher and fridge/freezer, microwave, built in oven and ceramic hob. The dual aspect, comfortable lounge has a smart television, Blu-Ray DVD player and portable radio. Wi-Fi Internet access available. French doors lead out onto a large sun deck at the water’s edge with patio furniture and parasol.
On-site parking available for two cars.
For an additional charge we are pleased to be able to offer for hire our six-seater day boat, which is fully equipped with bow and stern thrusters, electric toilet, includes a full tank of diesel, insurance (exc. excess) buoyancy aids and private mooring.
Heron Cottage is the perfect base from which you and your family can explore Norfolk and The Broads.
STRICTLY a no smoking property. Smokers are allowed to smoke outside but not inside the house. Guests must be mixed groups, male and female. Sorry no pets allowed.

Reviews for Heron Cottage
We stayed in this gorgeous cottage in September 2025. The location is stunning, and everything about the cottage is perfect. The view from the lounge is beautiful and makes you not want to leave the cottage. There is lots of first class cutlery, crockery and utensils in the kitchen. The beds were really comfortable. The swans make a daily appearance, which adds to the pleasure of the place. Lovely sunny decking area to the rear to sit and take in the views. Just a 5 min walk into Horning village. Would definitely go back to Heron Cottage.
