A few things to know before you book
Love fishing? The River House offers private fishing directly from the garden during the open season. An appropriate fishing licence is required, and there's handy tackle storage and a bait fridge provided.
Bringing or hiring a boat? Riverside mooring is available for your own boat or a hired dayboat. The owner's boat is kept in the boat dock, but there is still plenty of river frontage available for dayboat mooring. The owner's boat is not included with your stay.
Enjoying the waterside: The River House has unfenced frontage directly onto the River Thurne. It's a beautiful setting, but children should be closely supervised around the water at all times.
Bedroom arrangements: The upstairs twin bedroom has a sloping ceiling, so taller guests may find the headroom limited. Although there is a ground-floor double bedroom, please check suitability if anyone in your party has mobility requirements.
Parking and access: Free parking for one vehicle is provided near Repps Staithe, approximately 2–5 minutes' walk from the cottage. There is no parking immediately outside the property.
Bringing a four-legged friend? Up to two small pets or one large pet are welcome for an additional charge. There's even a handy outdoor hose for washing muddy paws after your adventures.
Planning a winter break? One 47kg gas bottle is included in the rental cost for winter stays and is normally sufficient for a week's use. If additional gas is required, it is charged at £80 per bottle, with usage monitored by the owner.
Security: External CCTV cameras are used for security and crime prevention. Images are recorded in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
Smoking and vaping: To keep The River House fresh and comfortable for everyone, smoking and vaping aren't permitted inside the property. Smoking is permitted outside only.
Reviews for The River House
Recently well renovated cottage easily accessible from the car park. It is one of the few 2 storey cottages and comes with everything you need. Great outdoor seating for 4 on the verandah and table on the large grass area for outside dining and bar b queues. Great relaxing location to watch the world go by. Plenty of space for our bikes which we enjoyed using to explore the area. It was great being able to moor our little boat out the front and potter up and down the river and explore the spurs and stop outside the local pubs for lunch . We had a fantastic sunny week and can highly recommend.
