A quaint 2 bedroom cottage on the banks of the main river in Horning.
Book OnlineRainbows End, a quaint 2 bedroom cottage in the heart of Horning, new and ready to go now. On the banks of the main river in Horning and just a short walk to all of the pubs and shops in the village makes this is the perfect place to stay.
There aren’t too many 2 bedroom places on the main river Bure so be quick to book as I expect Rainbows End to be very busy. Well behaved pets welcome (small charge). River Fishing from garden in season.
STRICTLY a no smoking property. Smokers are allowed to smoke outside but not inside the house. Large cars/trucks/vans may struggle with parking access.

The cottage is lovely. It is tranquil, quaint and very clean. The location is 5 star and we really appreciated the 'vintage' decor and crockery. We were a bit disappointed by the main double bed which had two mattresses which as well as the inevitable dip in the middle rendered it far too soft for us! We flagged this and the fact that no welcome pack was left to Riverside Rentals so hopefully these issues should be resolved. The cottage is very well-equipped , including the kitchen but you may need to take a dishcloth , sponge etc should the welcome pack not materialise for future visitors.
Many thanks for your review. We do normally leave welcome packs in the property so apologies that this was missed for your stay. We have spoken with the owners with regards to the mattresses.
Absolute heaven - lovely cottage garden straight down to the river with excellent views up and down the river. Accommodation is excellent, homely, everything you need and very comfy beds. All amenities in the high street and definitely NO complaints. Highly recommend and will return.PS Very friendly people too.
our first visit to Rainbows End for 4 nights in March 18 Very warm cosy cottage clean &; well equiped good fishing from garden only complaint the tackle shed could be larger will return soon
July 15th to 22nd 2017. We had a fabulous week at Rainbow's End. We took my mum, our teenage daughter and our two dogs and we all had a wonderful, relaxing break. From the ease of booking to collecting the keys and receiving instructions on using the boat we hired, we just knew we would be using Riverside Rentals again. The cottage had all we needed and was very clean and comfortable with a beautiful garden overlooking the river. The weather was perfect and the sunsets were incredible! We have so many photos and nice memories. We took picnics out on the boat during the day and explored The Broads. We alternated between eating at the pubs (all good!) and eating in the cottage garden in the evenings. We also had a yummy takeaway from the (very) local Chinese! My husband really enjoyed the fishing too. All in all, a perfect holiday. Guess what? We have already booked a cottage and a boat with Riverside Rentals for next year. Thank you.
July 1st to 8th 2017.just had a wonderful week at rainbows end weather perfect location perfect mum and hubby enjoyed fishing I could wonder off when bored lovely to watch boats going by it was just what we needed as should have been a party of four but sadly a few weeks before we came became a party of three we have come home refreshed thank you if we come to Honing again will come to rainbows end second time with riverside rentals will be back in Norfolk next year going to try Wroxham
We were four all family related aged in the 70's having previously hired Broads cruisers we wanted the comfort of shore based living without giving up our enjoyment of the rivers. We arranged hire for the week of a fully equipped day boat through Riverside Rentals this we moored at the bottom of the garden. We made excellent use of it cruising to Coltishall,Ranworth,How Hil,Dilham, and South Walsham. in the 5 days The cottage suited us it was well equipped and cosy. The one bathroom toilet on the ground floor is not ideal for accessing from the upstairs bedrooms.
Situated on the picturesque river and in the heart of the village it is well worth its rating, we would visit again
Had a wonderful 2 weeks in this delightful cottage. We spent many happy hours sitting on the lawn/patio watching river life which was especially relaxing in the evenings. Horning village is attractive and there were a good selection of places to eat.
Have rented many cottages around Horning over last 10 years. Pleasant stay. Would have been helpful for the property details on website to describe layout as no bathroom upstairs. This was an inconvenience to us but could be a real issue for some visitors with the steep open back stairs. Also, some pointers on how to adjust heating, if we used the garage could it be locked and a general info file about the cottage would also be helpful. Cottage clean and warm and agree with other visitors that access is tricky depending on your car.
Hi, many thanks for your feedback, I have included that the bathroom is downstairs now on our website Im sorry I thought it had said there on there. There should have been a general info file by the visitors book, I will check and see if someone has hidden it.
only 2 issues .
re-seal shower cubicle
up date furniture, ward robes; side boards etc .
This is a nice cottage ; set in a perfect position .Cannot fault cleanliness ; would of liked access to wireless heating thermostat.
Not a fisherman my self ; but fishing was excellent in area .
Drive way narrow ; but my mk4 mondeo ; without mirrors folded in ,had 2 to 3 inches either side .As other reviews ;take it steady .
If we were coming back to Horning in a cottage ; no problem in renting Rainbow End again .
A very comfortable holiday cottage, having everything needed for a lovely break! We had o glorious week, plenty of sunshine & good fishing. Some beautiful Perch up to 2lbs.
Cottage very clean & well equipped,no complaints at all.
Yes,access is a bit narrow for an S.U.V.,but,mirrors folded in,& nice & steady-no problem.
Rainbows End is a beautiful cottage in the centre of Horning. It is very convenient for the shops and eating places. The patio doors open on to a well kept riverside garden. We enjoyed watching the boats go by and seeing the wildlife. A very enjoyable holiday home. Yes the driveway is narrow but we don't have a big car so it wasn't a problem.
Beautiful well equipped cottage in an excellent location. Fab fishing! Plenty of bream, roach, perch and pike. Safe for the dog and steps to dog friendly playing field just opposite. Access driveway VERY narrow.
