Brit House believed to have been originally built in the 1860’s and one time residence of Baron Frederick Hounsell Dammers, has been lovingly renovated to a beautiful standard. Sleeps 12 in 6 bedrooms, all with en-suite and offers outstanding views of the Broadland around. Sitting on the quiet Southern river Yare in Reedham this large corner plot is great for family get togethers.
This is an amazing setting to spend your holidays with plenty of space for all the family. A huge garden on the river front for everyone to enjoy, and just walking distance to Reedham village with its 3 pubs, Post Office, general store and fish and chip shop. The Ferry pub can be reached by a beautiful walk via a private gate in the garden onto a footpath that follows the river bank through reeds and meadows directly to the pub – about 10 minutes brisk walk or make the most of the Broadland scenery and take a more leisurely stroll. The newly refurbished Lord Nelson and The Ship, both on the riverside in the village, are even closer.
This picturesque village is also home to the excellent Humpty Dumpty brewery with its well stocked shop selling wines and ciders as well as many locally produced beers. There is also Pettitts Adventure Park where there are rides galore for young children, family entertainment, exotic and domestic animals and birds to see as well as animals to feed and pet.
Bird watchers will appreciate the provision of a tripod mounted 22-67 x 100 spotting scope, which should enhance views of the marsh harriers which can often be seen roaming the open vistas perfectly appreciated from Brit House’s beautiful balcony.
A stay at Brit House really does offer everything you could want, there is even a train station within walking distance for those that want to visit Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft or Norwich without having to take the car.

We had 2 fantastic weeks at Brit House in July. What an amazing property, incredibly well equipped and comfortable with the added advantage if ensuite to all rooms as well as spacious living areas. We spent hours looking through the telescope at the abundance of wildlife. We fished every day in the river and made lots of use of the amazing pizza oven! Thanks to Mike and Jane for making us feel like this was a real home from home!
12 of us recently stayed at Brit House and we had an amazing time. The house is beautiful and spacious and the views are amazing. It's the nicest holiday place we've stayed in and we'd definitely like to return.
We have just spent a blissful week at Britt House celebrating a 90th birthday. So much planning and thought has gone into the restoration of the house in order for it to meet the needs of large groups. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare food "in house" and with such a beautiful setting and spectacular views there is no need to venture out. The owners were charming and could not be more helpful providing home made bread, tea, coffee and a bottle of prosecco as a welcome pack. A wonderful experience for us all.
Fabulous house, really well equipped, beautiful location. Best holiday rental we have ever had. Breathtaking views over the marshes. Highly recommended.
One of the best holidays I have had! We were a group of 12 and this property was absolutely perfect. There was ample parking, a mini roundabout included! The views were stunning, it was peaceful, from upstairs every window had a lovely view. The house itself was perfect, with all the mod-cons you could possibly need! The beds were comfy, everything clean and modern, perfect location. The owner was on hand when we needed him and could not do enough for us. There is plenty of crockery for everyone and plenty of spares. It was just amazing! Would highly recommend and would definitely go back. Thank you!
